Oh! What sad news. I remember Rick so well. We were always in the same homerooms together and he usually sat right behind me in every class we had together, since they usually seated us in alphabetical order. A nice guy who will really be missed. Michelle (Stevens) Pecheck

I knew Rick He was a neighbor of mine. He played base ball with me when I was a kid. His Dad as well. I have not seen or heard from him since JR High. But remember him well. I truly am saddened about his loss. . How Fragile Life Is. I (WE ) as we get older are humbled by death. I hope and pray for his family. I see that he had kids. I have one as well. I cannot imagine their loss. Randy Britt

| Hi Lori, You must have given Matt Woolbright my phone number. Thanks for that. I'm devastated. I haven't seen Rick in a long time and thought for sure helping my dad work on our race car and he worked on our pit crew at the races for a while too. So he was friends with my whole family. I can't even believe it really. i know his parents fairly well too and can't imagine their grief being a parent myself. These things all hit us harder after we have kids of our own. | I am so very saddened on hearing of Rick's death. We had been corresponding on classmates. I was so looking forward to seeing Rick again.....God Bless Rick and his family. Rick was a true RAM. Sandy Barrett-Thabet God Bless you Ricky |
I would like to send my heartfelt sorrow and condolences to Rick Tatum's family and friends. I'm sure that in his adult life Rick was a kind and good person as he was during our school years. Randy Woodside
That totally sucks. I haven't seen him since 9th grade at Marshall. That totally sucks. Pray for his family. Christopher Clad
The fact that all these folks are gone saddens me deeply. Rick's untimely passing is especially heart felt as it is so recent. I never really knew him, or much of all the others, but growing up together and being a part of the school community makes us all feel intimately bonded in a deep, enduring way. Prayers, peace, blessings, and aloha to Rick's family and friends, and to all the others. Candee Corwin
Thanks for sharing that news - I have a lot of fond memories of Rick and I will keep Matt and Ricks' family in my prayers. Please send any more news on this as I would like to send something if the family needs anything. Susan Nelson - Putic (good bye my old cribbage buddy - we spent hours on my front porch playing cribbage and talking!)
I just got back from vacation and got your email about Rick. What a shock. My condolences to his family and friends. He was a good guy and will be missed by all that knew him. I know God has him in his keeping, as we have him in our hearts. May his memory be our keepsake. Thanks for letting me know. Keely (Filener) Van Zee
| Very sad....Did you by chance go to the New Years eve party at his parents house in Eldorado Estates on the eve of 78? I bought the same floor plan in Eldorado Estates in 1995 and It brought back the memory of Ricks party......Hot Legs by Rod Stewart was the big hit at the party.....so young...very sad.... | Rick's death comes as such a shock to me. My heart goes out to his family. Sometimes life is just so unfair. It's hard to make sense of God's I was just visiting the reunion web site last week. I pointed his picture out to one of my daughters. I shared with her the fact that he was the first boy I ever kissed. You never forget your first kiss... Cathi O'Hare Phelps |

WOW ! Hello Lori, I am still in shock regarding the news about Rick. The night that i heard about his passing, i went by his old house in El Dorado Park Estates, where we grew up together. It was 11:00 pm and i got out of my car and just sat on the curb in front of that house and around the corner. His house was always "The Go- To House" because his parents (Stan & Sally) were so cool. Rick was the most passionate guy i have ever met when it came to sports, no one was as competitive as Rick Tatum. He would do anything it took to kick your ass in the most casual of pick-up basketball games, Over-The-Line, Ping-Pong, Pool or Football in the mud at Newcomb on a rainy day ! He actually broke my nose once playing one-on-one basketball in his driveway, his mom was pissed ! He was my teammate on so many teams through the years I can't count that high. He was always "The Captain" on our teams at Marshall and at Millikan, because he wanted to be "The Leader" and knew we all looked up to him. I will always remember our days together. Rick was a neighbor, and a teammate of mine over the years, but I am happiest and most grateful to call Rick Wayne Tatum my friend !!!! I Love You Brother ! Nick Dimas
